We went shopping in Seattle this weekend and found a fun little store that is just a hair up from the dollar store.
It’s the dollar and a half store. Most things were a buck fifty, up to four dollars as the most expensive item. My kids get allowance that they can spend on things they want so this store is perfect for them!
My daughter found a pair of wrist warmers there. Longer than average, black with white ‘diamonds’ on the back. She fell in love! Not quite understanding the pricing, she asked if they were four dollars and when I told her nope, just a dollar fifty, her eyes almost popped out of her head. She totally bought them. (I bought a pair for me as well cos they are cute! And functional!)
That was on Saturday. It’s Monday and I’m pretty sure she hasn’t taken them off yet.
This evening she was making a toasted bagel. Trying to butter it without getting any on her gloves. I told her to take them off when making food. To which she replied:
“But Mom, it’s my STYLE!”
She won that round, because I was laughing my head off so much I couldn’t enforce anything at that moment.
Style, with a little butter. We can live with that.
