We are camping.
At last! It’s taken all summer to go camping and now, finally we are!
We love camping.
The hikes, the s’mores, the fire.
We do not like the mosquitos so much. I found a new ‘natural’ spray. Lets hope it works. I totally brought the other kind-just in case.
We brought our own wood this time because
we smartened up buying wood at the camp site is expensive! But wood takes up some serious car space. We had to do some re-thinkering how to pack said car for everything to fit.
Some things got tied to the top of the car, but the rest needed to fit inside it. So to help with that all FOUR of us packed into ONE suitcase.
What did I forget and how cold will who be?
Plus one bag of swim wear, towels, etc.
And one more bag of ‘things to do’.
Because hiking in the dark is not safe, and I’m all about safe, you need to take along activities. So entertaining the kidlets means a bag o stuff for dark nights and down time. Which equals totally worth it, even if we squished said bag under a kidlets feet and wouldn’t let them peek inside until setting up the camp site and the sun sets.
Squeals, pleas and begging did not cave me. The bag o stuff must only be opened in times of dark or extreme boredom.
There isn’t much of that, thankfully! We love camping and all you can do! Did I mention the s’mores…
This camping isn’t roughing it either. There are showers, a ginormous field, trails and even a pool! The bag o stuff may not even need to be opened.
Still counts as camping since we are sleeping in the tent, cooking on a camp stove and getting dirty. There are bunkers to be explored and friends to laugh with.
Plus the stars. Oh the night sky when you camp-beauty to behold!
And eating s’mores.
