My run-race-fun-insanity is coming up soon and I am in ‘training’ for it. I’ve got to other wise this ‘run’ will
kill me hurt and I probably won’t be able to finish it. So train, train, train. Gotta get some muscles moving to carry me through.
Along with work, household, parenting and volunteering. Somehow I am managing to squeeze it all in.
One of the ways is to watch the weather. I had a meeting this evening that is about two miles away. If I ran the ‘long’ route I could had another half mile. Then afterwards run back home. Sure it would’ve been getting dark on the way back home but I coulda done it. I mean that would have been just over four whole miles! Totally worth a little less light. However, after the meeting the weather was icky. Cold, wet rain. That is not redundant. Washingtonians understand the difference.
Well I wasn’t too thrilled to run home in wet rain. Not with the sun setting. I’d get cold, I know I would. A wet, cold run was not exactly the training I wanted tonight. So I got a ride home instead. Did you know, when you cut your workout in half, you can totally squeeze it in. You. Can. Easily!
You may not get the ‘end’ result you’re looking for, but you can get half of one.
That is totally O.K. Right? I mean I’ll run the race and only be half dead, but I’ll finish it!
