Size Matters

Hey America, how you doing?

I’ve been watching awhile now and I have to admit, I’m a bit scared.

You see, we are overweight. The vast majority of us, no matter the age, is overweight. Children should not be overweight unless they have a medical condition. Older folks should not be overweight unless they have a certified medical condition. Middle ages and teens should not be overweight unless they too have a medical condition. Do you see a pattern? The only person at any age who should have a weight problem is if they have a medical condition that has been diagnosed by a doctor. Everyone else should not be.

I am not talking about those 10 pounds either. I’m talking about those obese pounds that make us extremely unhealthy.

It’s all about size. It really is. Eat only a normal portion, not the entire steak. The largest part at meals should be a veggie. If you are still hungry, then go back for more veggies or fruit. Not more potatoes or steak.

My Sweet Friends, I love you so much and I am saying this with as much love a person can give, you are killing yourself. We are dying.

And we are doing it to ourselves. We are to blame.

You pick up your own fork. You put each bite into your own mouth. You are the control. You are the reason.

Ouch.

If you do not know what a portion size is then I beg you to learn. Get out your measuring cups and USE them to dish up your plate. If you’re still hungry go for the veggies and fruit to fill up.

There is another side to this story: Get Active.

Move your body.

Every. Day.

Do something: walk, run, bike, swim or dance in your own house. Do this with friends or without. If you have a younging, they will dance with you, no judgement, and you will giggle because you will have fun. If you don’t have a youngin and think you can’t dance, then go on a walk. You can walk. Do it. Just go.

Watch your portions, move your body.

I am begging us to get healthy. I implore it of us. We are killing ourselves with each extra bite we take.

Here are some websites you can read to learn portion control. It’s not hard people and you’ll learn it quickly. Then you can make that change for every meal. Please! Obesity is not ok. It is painful, it is hard, it is not normal, even though it is our norm. Somewhere we went sideways and now is the time to return. Be healthy, you are loved.

You are worth it.
